My name is Howard Kirsh and I am a Doctor of Chiropractic. As I roll on (like a snowball) and accumulate layers of wisdom, especially healthcare wisdom, I realize that personal health and well-being are constantly changing, relatively fleeting and sometimes needful of perspective. But… health and well-being are often achievable. My best advice is that you should prioritize health in your life and fight to improve it, consistently and intelligently. I graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario in 1994. Over the years, I have evolved in both my public practice and my personal life and I am still a work in progress. As a chiropractor in Ontario, we are required by legislation to attend new courses for ongoing self-improvement and evaluation that includes at least 40 hours worth of continuing education every two year period. This is something that keeps me very fresh. As a person, life, has been quite a teacher too and I am actually capable of effecting major changes. I began my chiropractic education as a mature student. I quit smoking over 20 years ago. And… I am that guy, who some folks occasionally know, who figured out how to lose 120 pounds and in the process, a bunch of other problems. And made sure they don’t come back. I can help.

Experience and community work has also helped to shape my public and professional being. Irony is sometimes a thing and the patient in my practice with the largest scoliosis turned out to be my youngest daughter. You had better believe that I learned a thing or two about caring for a patient with scoliosis!!! I have a huge interest in sports. I volunteered to be medical staff in my capacity as both a Doctor of Chiropractic and as a First Responder for The Ride to Conquer Cancer in 2008-10, in it’s first few years. Then, I covered the Pan-Am games in 2015 and the Invictus Games in 2017. I learned so much from working with the athletes. And, had a fantastic time too!!!
In my practice, I use what I learn along with current diagnostic and chiropractic techniques and some old ones. I use a blend of techniques that include “Diversified,” this is the one that most people think of when they think of chiropractic adjustments. It is the entirely ‘hands-on’ technique that is most commonly taught worldwide. My table allows me to adjust with Thompson Technique which is also very popular and makes use of “drop pieces” built right into the table for this purpose. I can also use a small adjusting device called an Activator. And then, 27 years into practice….I started using a technique called flexion/distraction which is especially amazing for lumbar problems. In January of 2022, I bought a spanking brand new flexion/distraction table and the folks have been loving it ever since. I love what I do!!!!
Personally, I am happily married for 34 years and we have three very successful and motivated children. I am a Toronto native. My wife, Elyse is my office manager and partner in this chiropractic voyage that began shortly after we got married. I hope you will find my office and staff as welcoming, caring, prompt and experienced.
Thank you for your consideration.
